With international relations strengthening, travel traffic has spread across the globe. Turkish Airlines and other private carriers are launching flight after flight. The other side of the business includes car rentals, transfers, dining reservations, and of course hotels... Until I spoke with Mert Dorman, I hadn’t realized just how vast this world is — or how significant a cost item it truly represents.
Dorman is a highly dynamic, innovative, young female entrepreneur... the founder of Section Turizm. Since taking the helm in the 2000s, she has consistently worked on creative business models. Dorman says: “For corporations and organizations, travel and transportation operations have become a standalone function that must be managed. Effective management can deliver up to 40% savings on spend in this area.” That’s a critical figure, especially for companies with high travel costs. Naturally, service quality matters too. “We design hotels and travel formats for companies based on their specific needs. While planning correctly for them, we share our tested, proven expertise,” Dorman explains, adding that the future of tourism lies in these creative applications. “A tourism company in the UK can offer you nearly 40 different products,” she notes. That’s why she believes the same approach is essential on the individual customer side as well. Otherwise, competing without staying a click ahead of online booking sites like http://Booking.com is impossible. “As a company, we’re focused on creating models here and, more importantly, integrating directly into a corporation’s own operating system. For example, companies can track all invoices and services through our online platform,” says Dorman.
They also launched their online ticket sales platform, bilet-go.com, some time ago. In every sector, creative entrepreneurs can shift paradigms — and Dorman is poised to be one of those names for tourism.
